Thank you for choosing Stephanie Dellinger Voice Studio! These policies are designed to provide a consistent, respectful experience for every student while allowing lessons to run smoothly.
Introductory Lesson
All new students begin with a 30-minute Introductory Consultation & Lesson.
During this session we'll:

Scheduling
Lessons are scheduled through My Music Staff.
Current students may book lessons through the Student Portal based on their assigned lesson length and available openings.
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
Life is unpredictable, and I strive to extend the same flexibility to my students that I occasionally need myself.

Students: Please provide at least 12 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson whenever possible. This allows me the best opportunity to offer that lesson time to another student. Lessons canceled with less than 12 hours' notice are generally considered forfeited, though exceptions may be made for illness or genuine emergencies.
​
Instructor: As an active performer and parent of professional child actors, I occasionally receive audition or filming opportunities with little or no advance notice. In those rare situations, I may need to reschedule a lesson on short notice. If this happens, I will contact you as soon as possible and make every effort to find a mutually convenient makeup time.
If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson without notice, the lesson is forfeited and a refund will not be issued.

Results & Expectations
Every student brings unique goals, strengths, and circumstances to their training. My commitment is to provide thoughtful, individualized instruction, honest feedback, and practical guidance to help each student grow as a musician and performer.

While consistent training significantly improves vocal technique, musicianship, confidence, and performance skills, no instructor can guarantee specific outcomes. Participation in lessons or coaching does not guarantee admission to a school or university, scholarship awards, casting opportunities, agency representation, competition results, professional bookings, or any other particular achievement.
​
A student's success depends on many factors beyond private instruction, including consistent practice, preparation, commitment, individual ability, health, timing, and the decisions of third parties such as audition panels, casting directors, schools, and employers.
​
My goal is to equip every student with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to perform at their highest level while celebrating growth and progress throughout the journey.
Arrival Procedures
To help lessons run smoothly and avoid interrupting another student's lesson, please send a text message when you arrive rather than knocking or ringing the doorbell.

Students may be scheduled back-to-back, and I may still be teaching when you arrive. I will come to the door or invite you in as soon as I am available.
​
If you arrive early, I kindly ask that you wait quietly outside until I text or greet you.
Late Arrivals
Students arriving late are welcome to attend the remainder of their scheduled lesson; however, lessons will end at the originally scheduled time to avoid delaying the next student.
Audition Coaching
I welcome opportunities to help students prepare for auditions and performances. However, audition coaching is intended to complement—not replace—ongoing vocal study.

While occasional one-time coaching sessions may be available, students who study consistently throughout the year generally experience the greatest artistic growth and are best prepared for auditions when opportunities arise.

No. While I provide personalized voice lessons, audition coaching, and expert vocal training, no voice teacher can guarantee college acceptance, scholarships, agency representation, casting opportunities, or professional bookings.
Success in singing and the performing arts depends on many factors, including consistent practice, preparation, individual growth, health, timing, and decisions made by casting directors, schools, and other industry professionals.
My goal is to give every student the healthy vocal technique, musicianship, confidence, and performance skills they need to reach their full potential. Whether your goal is to perform professionally, prepare for college auditions, or simply become a stronger, more confident singer, I'll provide the guidance and support to help you make meaningful progress.
Yes! I offer one-time audition coaching for musical theatre, school productions, college auditions, competitions, and other performances. Together, we'll refine your song selection, acting choices, storytelling, vocal technique, and overall presentation so you can walk into your audition feeling prepared and confident.

While a single coaching session can make a meaningful difference, students who participate in ongoing voice
lessons typically experience the greatest long-term growth and are often better prepared when audition opportunities arise.
Absolutely! Parents are always welcome to observe lessons, especially for younger students or those who are just getting started. As students grow in confidence and independence, many families choose to wait outside so students can develop greater ownership of their learning.

Every student is different, and my priority is creating the best possible learning environment. If I notice that a student is more focused, confident, or engaged without a parent in the room, I may recommend having you drop them off and return at the end of the lesson. Of course, I'll always communicate openly with you and explain why I believe it's in your child's best interest.

Whether a parent stays or steps out, I'm always happy to discuss progress, answer questions, and provide ideas for supporting practice at home.
Please bring a bottle of water and any sheet music or songs you'd like to work on during your voice lessons. If you're not sure what to sing, don't worry—we can choose music together that's appropriate for your goals and experience level.

I also encourage students to use their phone or other device to record vocal exercises during the lessons. Having those recordings makes it much easier to practice correctly throughout the week and continue making steady progress between lessons.
